THERMAL WATER - Health Baths

The wide range of health benefits associated with the thermal waters in Chochołów has been known for a long time. Today, guests can enjoy them in an incredibly convenient way. In the modern complex of Chochołów Thermal Baths, you can bathe in special pools or barrels filled with iodized saline water or sulfur thermal water. What are the specific health benefits of the THERAPEUTIC ZONE - bathing in thermal water?

THERAPEUTIC ZONE - Bathing in Thermal Water for Health Benefits

The iodized saline and sulfur waters have a beneficial impact on the skin, joints, and circulatory system. They also help in the treatment of diabetes, atherosclerosis, and rheumatic problems. Guests of Chochołów Thermal Baths can enjoy thermal barrels with raw thermal water (temperature of 36 °C) and a thermal pool with iodized saline water (temperature of 32 °C).

Sulfur baths, due to the slightly acidic nature of the water, soften and rebuild the epidermis. This is referred to as keratoplastic action, which aids in the treatment of skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis. Relaxing in sulfur waters also benefits the cartilage of the joints, aiding in the treatment of rheumatic diseases, degenerative joint disease, discopathy, and more.

Salt baths are considered very pleasant therapy. The mineral-enriched water has beneficial effects on the skin, internal organs, and bones. Saltwater baths are also recommended for children. The saline solution calms, improves mood, and has a soothing effect. Therapeutic saltwater baths normalize blood pressure, reduce the excitability of sensory and motor receptors, improve blood circulation, boost immunity, regenerate skin metabolism, and stimulate its blood supply.

The pool area at Chochołów Thermal Baths is divided into outdoor and indoor zones. The two outdoor thermal pools offer attractions such as the artificial wave mentioned earlier and a rushing river. Guests can also engage in water sports such as volleyball or basketball. Those using the outdoor pool also have access to a water bar. The indoor pools are smaller but equipped with hydro-massage stations. Within the complex, there are two sports pools that are known for their greatest depth.

Chochołów Thermal Baths also houses the largest saunarium in Podhale. It features a glass sauna with panoramic views, allowing guests to admire the beauty of the Tatra Mountains during moments of relaxation. Zakopane Thermal Baths

Szaflary Thermal Baths offer four pools with highly mineralized thermal water. The water temperature is maintained between 30-38 °C and comes from the IG1 well. There are two outdoor and two indoor pools, a three-lane family slide, and a paddling pool with a slide for children. The pools are equipped with various hydro-massage devices, such as massage benches, water whips, water spouts, geysers, and neck and shoulder massage devices. For those seeking excitement, there is also a slide over 55 meters long. The water in the pools has a unique and diverse physicochemical composition, high hardness, low alkalinity, and a wide range of essential minerals for health, such as potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and sulfur. Therefore, bathing in water with such parameters and a rich mineral content has a beneficial effect on our body: it reduces obesity, eliminates insomnia, stabilizes the pulse, relieves fatigue and headaches, reduces stress, improves well-being, speeds up recovery after treatments, and enhances metabolism.

Thermal Baths Szaflary

Dry sauna (Finnish sauna) - the temperature inside ranges from 75-100°C, while the humidity is only 10%. The body heats up evenly without causing overheating zones around the heat source. Using a dry sauna promotes relaxation, reduces muscle pain, and accelerates the healing process. The treatment strengthens the immune system and effectively helps fight colds in the early stages. Sweating, which is inevitable at this temperature, has a cleansing effect on the body, eliminates unnecessary compounds, reduces cholesterol levels, and aids in eliminating excess water.

Herbal sauna - the initial temperature is 50°C and gradually increases to a maximum of 90°C. Water with aromatic additives is poured onto the stones, creating steam and increasing the air humidity to 25-45%.

Steam sauna (Roman bath) - the temperature in the room is around 40-50°C, and the air humidity can reach 100%. There is also a steam sauna with music therapy and aromatherapy available.

Infrared sauna - the temperature in the sauna is a maximum of 60°C. This type of sauna is mainly intended for people who, for health reasons, are not recommended to use dry or wet saunas. In the case of an infrared sauna, the infrared rays transform into heat, which warms the subcutaneous fat tissue, muscles, and internal organs.

There is also a restaurant on the premises of the thermal baths, specializing in steaks made from beef sourced from various regions of the world.

The salt graduation tower, located in the Wellness & SPA area, is equipped with a pump that distributes brine through specially arranged wicks. The dispersed brine creates an aerosol in the air, saturating it with iodine, bromine, and a significant amount of beneficial microelements and macroelements such as magnesium, sodium, and iron. Iodine and bromine, known for their therapeutic properties, are used in the treatment of upper respiratory tract disorders, emphysema, sinusitis, hypertension, allergies, neuroses, and as support for the body's exhaustion.

Mud baths are among the most popular therapeutic baths. They have a positive impact on our health and the condition of our skin, firming, nourishing, and rejuvenating it. The mud, which is brought from Czarny Dunajec, is an undrained peat that forms through the decomposition of marsh vegetation involving microorganisms, usually bacteria, and air. In the Wellness & SPA area, there is a subzone with mud baths in specially prepared tubs. The mud is supplied from Czarny Dunajec. Mud baths are among the most popular therapeutic baths worldwide. They have both health and cosmetic benefits, firming, rejuvenating, and nourishing the skin of the face and body. Mud exhibits antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties, improves tissue oxygenation and cellular metabolism. It is used for detoxification and cleansing of the skin, firming and tightening the skin on the face and body, reducing wrinkles, and treating cellulite. Additionally, it soothes, relaxes, and brightens sunspots and acne marks.

Gorący Potok is a complex of several outdoor pools with natural, raw sulfur water, where the temperature ranges from 34-40 degrees Celsius. There are 21 different pool basins available, each offering attractions for everyone. The pools have various features such as water massages, geysers, fountains, rope parks, climbing walls, and a children's area. Due to the water temperature, relaxation in Gorący Potok is possible even on cold winter days.

This place also offers a sauna zone where you can experience moments of relaxation. There is a dry sauna, steam sauna, and infrared sauna available. As a complement to thermal relaxation in the spa area, you can also enjoy bathing in pools with increased sulfur content, mud baths, massages, and cosmetic treatments.

It has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, providing relaxation and stimulation at the same time. It is recommended for individuals with hypertension and sensitive blood vessels. It is also known as an aromatic sauna due to the automatic dispensing of aromatic substances during the session, which lasts for 12-20 minutes.

benefits of sauna bathing

One of the greatest benefits of sauna bathing is the elimination of toxins from the body, of which we have a significant amount in today's world. This form of relaxation positively affects endothelial cells, improves heart function, and lowers blood pressure. The heart rate in the sauna increases by up to 30%. Another advantage is that profuse sweating improves blood circulation in the skin, making it easier to eliminate dead cells and promote the growth of new ones. As a result, the skin becomes more elastic and moisturized. Additionally, regular sauna visits boost the immune system. Steam sauna, in particular, has a great effect on the upper respiratory system.
