Start your adventure with a picturesque raft trip through the Dunajec Gorge – one of the most beautiful river routes in Europe. The 14-kilometre route runs through the heart of the Pieniny National Park in Slovakia, and the highland raftsmen accompanying you will tell passionate stories, legends and interesting facts related to this magical place. It is not only a tourist attraction – it is an encounter with tradition, nature and peace that flows with the current of the Dunajec. After the rafting, you will take a relaxing walk through the Leśnicki Gorge – a charming valley surrounded by the lush nature of the Pieniny Mountains. This short section of the route is the perfect moment to take a breath and have direct contact with untouched nature. For those willing, a horse-drawn carriage ride is available (option additionally paid).

After the excitement of the Dunajec rafting on the Slovak side, a unique place awaits you - the charming, wooden Chata Pieniny, surrounded by mountains and forests. This is not an ordinary stop - it is the culmination of the entire trip, where nature meets tradition, and Slovakia reveals its true, highlander face. One of the most beautiful moments during the trip "Highlander Dunajec Rafting + Flavors of Slovakia" is a stop at a unique viewpoint - Leśnica Pass, located at an altitude of 720 m above sea level. This place delights with a panoramic view of the entire Pieniny and Tatra Mountains, and in good weather you can also see the characteristic peaks of the Three Crowns and the Dunajec River. After earlier impressions from the Dunajec rafting on the Slovak side, a moment at Leśnica Pass allows you to catch your breath, feast your eyes and take souvenir photos that will stay with you for a long time.

1. Is the Highlander Dunajec Rafting held on the Slovak side?

Yes, the rafting is held in Slovakia, on the Majere - Leśnica route. It is a peaceful, picturesque and less crowded alternative to the rafting on the Polish side. The route is 14 km long and lasts approx. 2 hours.

2. Where do participants pick up from?

Participants are picked up from many towns around Zakopane: Zakopane, Białka Tatrzańska, Bukowina Tatrzańska, Poronin, Murzasichle, Biały Dunajec, Bańska, Szaflary, Nowy Targ. A detailed map of the stops can be found at this link >>

3. Is the Dunajec rafting in Slovakia safe?

Yes. The rafting takes place on traditional rafts under the care of experienced raftsmen. The route is peaceful, without rapids - also ideal for children and seniors.

4. Can children take part in the trip?
Of course! The trip is perfect for families with children - there are no difficult climbs on the route, and there is a free playground for the youngest at Chata Pieniny.

5. Can you eat more than just a grilled sausage?

Yes, you can also order regional Slovak dishes at the restaurant at Chata Pieniny (optional, prices from 12€).

6. Will there be souvenirs available?

Yes! There is a shop with regional souvenirs and drinks at Chata Pieniny. You can also order and pick up a souvenir photo from the Dunajec rafting trip.

7. What to wear for the trip?

We recommend comfortable shoes, a raincoat, light layered clothing (the weather in the mountains can be changeable), and sunglasses and a sunscreen. It is also worth taking a small backpack and water.

8. Is the trip available all year round?

No, Dunajec rafting on the Slovak side takes place seasonally - usually from May to October, depending on weather conditions and the water level in the Dunajec.
