Orava Castle (Oravský hrad) is one of the most beautiful and impressive castles in Central Europe, often called the "crown of Slovakia." It proudly stands on a rocky promontory above the Orava River, over 100 meters high – its silhouette is impressive even from a distance.

📜 Origins Dating Back to the Middle Ages
The castle was first mentioned in the 13th century (1267), when the first wooden and stone fortifications were built here. Its strategic location on the border between Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic meant that for centuries it served as a border fortress, as well as the seat of local authorities and royal administrators.
