Slovak Rafting on the Dunajec Gorge!

📍 Rafting through the Dunajec Gorge on the Slovak side is a unique attraction and an unforgettable experience. The traditional raft trip is enriched by the stories of Slovak raftsmen, who will share the history and legends associated with the Pieniny region. It’s a perfect opportunity to admire the stunning landscapes of one of the most beautiful corners of the Polish-Slovak border.

 

📍 The rafting route runs from Majere to Leśnica. Upon arrival, we will take a walk through the picturesque Leśnicki Gorge to the bus, which will then take us to Lake Czorsztyn, visiting the historic Niedzica. Local products, regional attractions, and specialties of the Spiš cuisine will await us there.

 

📍 The highlight of the program will be a visit to a UNESCO-listed monument. This place captivates with its history, architecture, and unique atmosphere.

Dunajec rafting from the Slovak side

Majere - Leśnica

We start the trip from one of the biggest attractions in the region –the rafting on the Dunajec River, along the routeMajere - Leśnica. This is one of the most beautiful river routes in Europe, leading through the Dunajec Gorge in the Pieniny National Park.

During the raft trip, the rafters not only steer the boat but also share interesting facts, legends, and stories related to the Pieniny.Rafting on the Dunajec to Leśnica is a unique experience – a combination of beautiful landscapes, rafting culture, and the tranquility of nature.

 

After the rafting, we will take a peaceful walk through the picturesque Leśnicki Gorge — a beautiful valley surrounded by the nature of the Pieniny landscape. This is a perfect moment to relax and admire the unspoiled nature up close. Those interested can also take a ride in a traditional horse-drawn carriage (additional fee applies).

Visit to Niedzica

After an exhilarating rafting trip on the Dunajec River, it will be time to relax, enjoy a meal, and explore the history of Dunajec Castle. The area also features an impressive dam on Lake Czorsztyn, where you can see a unique 3D painting placed on its crown.

The chapel in Dębno

On the way back, we will visit a unique church dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel in Dębno Podhalańskie — one of the most valuable monuments of architecture gothic in Poland.

 

📍 The church is part of the Wooden Architecture Trail and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2003, , as one of the oldest and best-preserved wooden churches in Poland.

 

📍 The interior of the church is adorned with a unique, fully preserved polychrome from around 1500 — made in 33 colors.

 

📍 The church often appears in culture — scenes for the film and series "Janosik" were filmed here, which further increased its recognition among tourists.
